From August 28 to 29, deputy general manager and chief engineer Wang Zhi led a delegation to Ottawa, capital of Canada, to attend the EXTRACTION 2018. At the meeting, the company representatives separately reported on the latest development of the two-step copper smelting process of Fangyuan and the application technology of reducing the copper content in waste residue. They also participated in the seminar on development prospects of bath smelting.
Company chief scientist Tan Keqin was invited to attend the seminar on development prospects of bath smelting on August 29. In his speech, based on the actual production process of the company's two production lines, he expressed his confidence and expectation for the future of bath smelting, especially the two-step copper smelting process. The seminar was hosted by Gerardo, director of technology research and development at Olusi. Representatives from BBA of Canada, the University of Queensland of Australia, Altutai of Finland, Enfi of China and other internationally renowned non-ferrous research institutions, institutions and enterprises participated together.
On the afternoon of August 29, Nie Ganggang, technology business manager of the technology company, delivered a report entitled "Fangyuan two-step copper smelting process" in the conference. In his report, he pointed out that after three years of industrial production practice, the two-step copper smelting process has been increasingly perfected, and all economic and technological indicators have reached or exceeded the designed. Statistics for the first half of 2018 showed that the average monthly dry concentrates processing capacity of the process almost doubled compared with the beginning of production in 2016. Air supply rate increased to 98%, and production of anode copper grade up to the present 99.3%. Facts speak louder than words. The comparison of the above data shows the remarkable trajectory of the rapid growth, maturity and success of this new process independently developed by Fangyuan, which attracts the attention and appreciation of the majority of colleagues in the industry. Experts and scholars from the United States, Mexico, Japan and other countries and states came to communicate, asked about relevant technical details, and expressed the desire to visit the company's production site for further understanding.
Tan Keqin, chief scientist of the company, reported on the application of technology to reduce the copper content of waste residue. The report describes the latest progress of the company in the field of slag furnace technology research and experiment, and shows that "Fangyuan technology", as a system, is improving day by day, filling the gap in the industry, striving to improve the value of resources and promote green development.
During the meeting, the company's delegation also held talks with representatives from the University of Concepcion in Chile who were attending the conference, and reached some consensus on accelerating the establishment of the China-Chile future copper technology center and other issues．
